Prof. Anker and graduate student Melissa Rogalski were honored at the Clemson University Research Foundation (CURF) Inventor’s Award Ceremony for their patent on “Luminescent tension-indicating strain gauges for non-invasive measurements through tissue,” US patent number 20140046191. The invention describes a new type of spectral ruler used to measure strain on implanted medical devices non-invasively through tissue.
